The business must be genuine and operating, and you should budget for government, legal and advisory fees on top. It can. Under the Law on Citizenship, applicants may apply for Armenian citizenship after three years of permanent residence in Armenia, provided they can communicate in Armenian and are familiar with the Constitution of Armenia. Citizenship is discretionary, and the three years must be spent actually living in Armenia, so time spent living abroad can affect eligibility. No. You do not need to live in Armenia to hold and renew the residence card, which makes the programme practical for globally mobile investors and families. Not on its own. Buying real estate alone does not currently qualify for residency. The investment must be organised as genuine, income-generating business activity, for example a registered enterprise operating a rental, hospitality, or agricultural venture.
